Ben’s Seven Gables Cafe was located at the center of Green River, Utah on 125 W Main St (US Hwy 50 & 6).

According to Utah Division of State History (UDSH), this commercial structure was first built in 1960 as a theatre[1]. The structure seems made from Quonset hut. Quonset, an American Indian word meaning “small, long place”, was designated to the lightweight military prefabricated building designed in 1941 by George A. Fuller Company.

Ben(1924 – 2007) and Erma Lee(1920 – 2014) Coomer converted the former Rock Shop operated by Ed Mackey and Jem Theater owned by Bill Webb to the Cafe in 1968[2, 3, 4]. Ben also owned Uranium Motel, Ben’s Drive-Inn and Ben’s Steak House & Lounge at Green River[5, 6].

Today, it is active as Mexican restaurant La Veracruzana owned by Armando Zeferino.
