Reminder of the 70's along Rio Grande 25 – Crescent Junction Service Station, Brendel, Utah

Crescent Junction Service Station was located at Brendel (or Crescent Junction) Utah on 20 E Old Cisco Hwy (old US Hwy 50 & 6), next to Rio Grande main.

Charles Edwin(1900 – 1951) and Erma Mae(1900 – 1992) Wimmer established the gas service station and cafe/confectionary in 1947[1]. Their son Bruce Patten "Pat"(1927 – 1984), daughter Bette(1922 – 2006) and Alvin Ernest "Al"(1921 – 1999) Lange, granddaughter Lee Anne(Lani) and Rod Asay succeeded the business in turn[2]. Lee Anne closed the station in 2003. Joe Downard of Moab bought and reopened it as Papa Joe’s Stop & Go in 2008[3].

Crescent Junction Service Stationは、BrendelのUS Hwy 50 & 6沿いにある、1947年創業のガソリンスタンドである。一度閉店したが、現在はPapa Joe’s Stop & Goとして再開している。近くにできた放射性廃棄物処分場の労働者を当てにしているらしい。
