SP Caboose #1776

This SP steel welded bay window caboose is found next to the depot now housing Hudspeth County Museum at Sierra Blanca, TX. It seems a museum display assorted with searchlight style signal. It is repainted and lost original letterings but COTS remains intact.

SP #1776 was one of 1750–1799 series C-40-7 class cabooses built in 1967. It was once painted in Bicentennial scheme. Athearn produced the N scale model of the exact car twice in 2004 and 2009, both sold out.

この鋼製カブースはテキサス州のSierra Blancaという町で見つけた。移築保存された旧SP駅舎や信号機とともに展示されている。1967年製で、一時はアメリカ独立200周年を祝う塗装を纏っていた。保存後にも塗り直されているようで、ロゴマークや番号の書体・大きさや妻面の色などオリジナルではないが、COTS標記は遺っている。
