Amtrak, ex-NP Glendive Station [NP Photo Archives]

np_02.jpg: Glendive MT, summer, 1971

Our family stayed a night at Glendive, MT. We visited the engine yard and the station early in the evening.

From here, NP "North Coast Limited" until April 1970, Amtrak "North Coast Hiawatha" after that until 1979, should have taken me up to the Pacific. Only the model-like lights enliven the platform.

At Glendive, MT, found this locomotive at MOW equipment siding.
This is BN GP9 #1948, ex-NP #369.

NP #369 was built in 1958 and became BN #1948 in 1970. She was retired in 1985.

Turntable seen in the background seems still exists, but the string of wood side MOW equipment is gone by now.
